Fascism
Resisting Fascism
A public programme bringing Black studies, Indigenous scholarship, research on far-right movements, political journalism, and literary reportage into conversation.
Fascism is not only a historical label. It takes shape through political practices, exclusions, myths of national restoration, racial and colonial hierarchies, and the normalization of violence. This event gathers scholars and writers whose work helps identify how such formations travel through institutions, media, culture, and everyday life.
The programme begins with a keynote by Professor Rinaldo Walcott and reconvenes in the afternoon for a panel featuring Jeremy Appel, Eva Jewell, Kayla Preston, and Marcello Di Cintio.
How do fascist ideas become ordinary—and how can scholarship, journalism, cultural work, and collective action interrupt that normalization?
